The Russian military is accumulating forces and equipment near Chasiv Yar and Toretsk, but they have not made any advances, Anastasia Bobovnikova, the spokesperson for the Luhansk Operational-Tactical Grouping, reported on national TV on Nov. 4.

"We see that the enemy is accumulating its forces in the zone of responsibility of the Luhansk Operational-Tactical Grouping," Bobovnikova said, adding that recently, the enemy attacked their positions on the Siversk front using equipment, but thanks to the cooperation of Ukrainian units, the aggressor lost about ten tanks and more than ten combat armored vehicles.

Near Chasiv Yar and Toretsk, the enemy is attacking defenders with small assault groups but without success. However, Russia is accumulating equipment. On the Toretsk front, according to Bobovnikova, the situation is stable as the enemy continues to attack but without success.

"Moreover, we can counterattack and recapture some of the enemy's positions. Thanks to the work of the units, we do not allow them to advance," Bobovnikova stated.

Near Chasiv Yar, there is also an accumulation of enemy forces. However, the Luhansk Operational-Tactical Grouping denies information that the Russian invasion forces have advanced or consolidated their positions there.

"The enemy is accumulating its resources, so they engage in wishful thinking," said the spokesperson of the Luhansk Operational-Tactical Grouping.

“We will try to counter them as much as possible. So far, they are attacking with small assault groups, but we see that they are transferring live forces to forward positions at night, as well as preparing equipment, reinforcing it with EW, bringing in ammunition and weapons. Thus, they are accumulating their reserves near Chasiv Yar.”

The enemy has an advantage in manpower, added Bobovnikova. Russians are promised "mountains of gold" for signing a contract, but many of those who ended up in captivity in the zone of responsibility of the Luhansk Operational-Tactical Grouping claim that they have not seen these payments at all.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Oct. 30 that on some sections of the front, the ratio of Ukrainian to Russian forces is 1 to 8, forcing the Armed Forces of Ukraine to retreat from positions.

The DeepState monitoring project reported on Oct. 31 the capture of Selydove by the Russians. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine wrote that the Defense Forces repelled assaults in the direction of the town.

On the Toretsk front, the Defense Forces of Ukraine stabilized the situation and did not allow the Russian troops to advance further into Toretsk, reported the press secretary of the operational-tactical grouping Luhansk Anastasia Bobovnikova.

According to the Welt newspaper, Russian forces captured 470 square kilometers in eastern Ukraine in October. According to Estonian intelligence, last week Russian forces occupied about 150 square kilometers in Donetsk Oblast.

Bloomberg also reported on Nov. 1 that Russia captured more territory in eastern Ukraine over the past week than in any period of 2024 – more than 200 square kilometers were added to the territory captured during the summer Russian offensive.

DeepState analysts reported on Nov. 2 that the situation in the Kurakhove area is complicated due to increased pressure from Russian forces, threatening the key N15 highway.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that Ukrainian defenders are currently holding back one of the most powerful enemy offensives since the start of the full-scale invasion.

The New York Times, analyzing the situation on the front, reported that the Russian breakthrough near Toretsk could have catastrophic consequences for the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
