In the intense and unpredictable multiplayer matches of Black Ops 6, tactical equipment can mean the difference between life and death. Each piece of gear is designed to support various combat styles, and choosing the right one empowers players to strategize and adapt as the battlefield shifts around them.
Black Ops 6 has some exciting potential for Zombies storylines, especially after the huge reveal in the Terminus ending cutscene.
Every piece of equipment has its purpose, whether it enhances situational awareness, provides defensive support, or opens new avenues for offense. That being said, some are certainly more viable than others, and knowing their unique benefits can allow players to be prepared to master any encounter and secure victory for their team.
The decoy grenade is perfect for confusing enemies, and it can be stuck to walls or ceilings to keep it hidden, too. When deployed, it pings radars to indicate that an enemy is in that location while also mimicking sound and movement. These deceptive tactics can allow players to misguide opponents in certain directions, creating opportunities for easy ambushes or diverting attention when on the run.
It's definitely more of a situational device, though, and it relies on enemy mistakes rather than direct play, which can't be guaranteed. If the enemy doesn't fall for the player's tricks, then the grenade can be mostly rendered useless in a wide range of encounters. So long as players are strategic with its usage and aren't seen throwing it, then there's definitely some success to be found with the gadget.
Unlike previous iterations of the camera gadget in the Call of Duty franchise, the Spy Cam in Black Ops 6 is a handheld device that marks enemies and their equipment in real-time. Once someone has been scanned, they're marked for the whole team to see for a few seconds, as the enemy is even outlined through walls.
This can be a handy gadget when paired with a sniper rifle, like the LR 7.62, as it allows players to line up their shots before peaking around corners to get easy headshots. The major downside to the gadget, however, is the fact that it's handheld, meaning that players must stow their weapons to use it. They'll be an open target in the frantic matches, but if used correctly, the Spy Cam can lead to some easy kills.
Black Ops 6 players will have to level up quickly if they want to unlock the Shock Charge, a handy piece of kit that stuns enemies and stops them from aiming down their sights for a moment. These can be pre-placed when defending an objective area or thrown during a gunfight to disorientate the enemy.
There are six Secondary Weapons available for players to use in Black Ops 6; here is how they compare to one another.
It's important to note, though, that when enemies spring the trap, they can still shoot their guns. For some weapons, like snipers or marksman rifles, this won't be too severe an issue; for a submachine gun, however, the player won't gain much of an advantage due to how strong hip-firing can be with the right loadouts.
For how easy they are to use, Prox Alarms offer teams a great amount of intel during tense matches. Even without the Tactical Expert Wildcard, players get access to two alarms to place around the map, making defending certain areas much safer from enemy flanks or ambushes. Naturally, these aren't useful in a direct gunfight, but they sure help prepare for one.
Some game modes would suit the playstyle of this gadget more than others, such as Hardpoint or Headquarters, since those modes have players defending certain zones. Placing alarms down in the right areas can give the player's team the advantage of catching enemies before they sneak up and try to take the objective for themselves.
Smoke grenades have always had a decent amount of utility in most shooters, and they're no different in Black Ops 6. When thrown, they explode in a cloud of smoke, obscuring vision for both enemies and friendlies alike. On their own, they're handy for players to mask an attack and aid an escape from enemy fire.
The gadget can excel when paired with a thermal scope on a primary weapon, such as on the LW3A1. Players can throw a smoke and lie in wait as enemies run through, unaware of the bullet that's bound for their skull. It's important to remember that enemies can deploy this tactic, too, so players shouldn't think of the smoke cloud as reliable cover.
There aren't many easier kills to get in Black Ops 6 than against an enemy hit by a concussion grenade, especially if they weren't already facing the player. When this detonates, anyone in the hit vicinity has their vision distorted and their movement slowed, making it harder to aim at whoever threw the gadget.
Players looking to get their hands on the best assault rifles in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 don't have to look much further than these examples.
The concussion grenade is definitely most effective against surprised enemies, so players should throw them into a room before entering and make the most of the advantage. An aggressive playstyle would get the most out of this piece of equipment, but players need to be quick in claiming their kills, as the effect doesn't last too long.
The tried and tested flashbang grenade remains one of the best tactical equipment options in Black Ops 6, as is the case every year around. There aren't many upper hands that players can give themselves in a gunfight as effective as entirely blinding an enemy, but it can be a double-edged sword if the player catches themselves in the blinding flash.
With some practice and understanding of the throwing arcs, players will quickly learn that it's perfect for breaching fortified objectives or gaining control over a choke point. A fun way to put this to practice is to flashbang a room, rush in during the commotion, and use the blinded enemy as a human shield - there aren't many better ways to embarrass the opposing team.
There's nothing more useful in Black Ops 6 than staying alive, especially when the time-to-kill is so quick, and the Stim Shot ensures the player does just that. Whether it's used between gunfights or even during one, having that extra health boost can sway any battle in the player's favor or, at the very least, get them re-engaged with the fight much sooner.
It's invaluable in intense situations, especially when every second counts, so if players are vying for high scorestreaks, then staying in the fight is the first priority, and the Stim Shot almost guarantees that. Naturally, players will need to rely almost entirely on their gun skills in most encounters, but with smart health dosages, they should rarely find that they need anything else.
