5.11 Tactical, outdoor apparel and accessory brand, opens in south Overland Park

Outdoor American apparel brand 5.11 Tactical has officially opened its first Johnson County location in south Overland Park.

Where exactly? Earlier this month, the California-based retailer opened a 4,500-square-foot store in a space formerly occupied by Jason’s Deli at 12010 Metcalf Avenue in the Overland Crossing shopping complex.

The details: 5.11 Tactical sells outdoor clothing and tactical equipment, as well as footwear, accessories and uniforms.

Background: Based in Irvine, California, Robbins opened the first 5.11 Tactical in 1968.

The opening of 5.11 Tactical at Overland Crossing is just one of several measures Legacy is currently taking to renovate the site, including the construction of a new Whole Foods grocery store.
